Biography In 1999 the world witnessed the rise of DJ Cysko Rokwel, first jumping into the arena as a member of the Crunk Bros. It didn’t take long for the talent to shine through as Rokwel started hitting DJ battles all across the globe in 2001, earning world-wide accolade as one of the best set of hands rising through the ranks. The titles kept coming, including 1st-place honors at Bart’s Records Battle in 2002 and honors as the Next Level Champ in 2004 followed by a Colorado District Championship that same year. The two-handed burner kept battling and earned acclaim as one of the best DJs in the nation, taking the West Coast Championship and ranking as a US Finalist in the DMC Battles of 2004, moving on to take another Colorado Championship in 2006 and once again earning a spot as a US Finalist. This year, Rokwel was finally awarded his place at the top, battling some of the best in the game and persevering with a 2nd-place finish in the 2007 US Finals. A long road has been traveled and now the battle-tested soldier of the turntables is ready to claim his rightful place on the throne as the best DJ on the planet.
The onslaught of the power known as Es Nine first started in 1997 in California, a talented young DJ who transformed his passion for music into the production of his own magic melodies. To hone his talents as a producer, Es Nine attended the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences, isolating his talents in the Arizona desert, looking at the day when his star would shine. In 2003 under the name of Cai One, the early evolution of a musical engineer took form and quickly matured to a new name, Es Nine, and a body of work that would impress the ardent fans of hip hop. Es Nine has produced beats, melodies, and works of art for such prominent names as KRS One, Dilated Peoples, Encore, Killa Priest, Braille, Surreal, and Brown James. In 2005 the time had come to find a stage capable of holding his weight, leading to the creation of "House of Waxx Recordings," an independent recording label with aspirations of taking the hip hop world by storm. Every movement needs a voice. In 2002 the latest in a continued evolution of the world of hip hop found theirs, and his name is A.V.I.U.S. The young emcee on the rise first put pen to pad in 2002 and quickly found a knack for introspective and thoughtful emotion put to rhyme. Shortly after, A.V.I.U.S. hooked up with Es Nine and the rest is now becoming history. In 2005 these two collaborated on the first leap into the studio, making the album "Patience" a reality and giving fans of hip hop a new reason for hope. A.V.I.U.S. has gone on to a taste of the sweet life, serving as an opening act for national players of high stature such as GZA (of the Wu Tang Clan), Strange Fruit Project, Life Savas, Dilated Peoples, Pharcyde, Hieroglyphics, Blue Scholars, Blu, Dead Prez and many others . Fellow artists Demyo and Defari have both brought A.V.I.U.S. to the mic in collaborative efforts since then, and now the rest of the universe is ready to serve witness. Now these forces have joined to become one. Known as "3 Tha Hardway," this group is working with three of the most talented young stars on the rise and the world may never be the same. The mix is as sweet as can be, putting the dominating skills of DJ Cysko Rokwel on the tables while A.V.I.U.S. adds prose sure to sharpen the hook. Es Nine brings it all together with a master’s knowledge of the note and rhythm needed to make the masses sing. 3 Tha Hardway has taken a long and storied road to reach this point, and now the stage is theirs to wreck. |
